A Simply Helping Event
Simply Helping News
… is pleased to announce that Simply Helping is here to ‘Celebrate Older Victorians’ this October and is a proud sponsor of the Victorian Seniors Festival 2017.

Victoria’s one million-plus people aged 60 years and older will be celebrated when the 35th Victorian Seniors Festival kicks off this October.

Officially starting with Celebration Day on Sunday 8 October 2017, this Victorian Government initiative will see more than 1,500 free and low-cost individual events and activities held across the state, many of them run by local councils and community groups.

This year’s programme embraces the theme ‘You’re welcome’, which underpins the Festival’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity. All older Victorians, irrespective of experience or mobility, are invited to learn new skills, make new friends and take part in fun-filled activities. The month-long Festival features a range of entertainment, tours, workshops and experiences across sports, wellness, education and the arts.

Take part in the health benefits of tai chi, admire the latest exhibitions and enjoy the sounds of classic jazz and band performances by local musicians. Highlights also include Federation Square’s Celebration Day and the 2017 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards. Events are free or low-cost and free public transport will be available for Seniors Card holders during the Festival from 8 to 15 October.

Simply Helping will be involved throughout the festival; exhibiting at the Celebration Day and at the Festival Hub at Melbourne Town Hall on the 12th and 13th of October, as well as hosting an information session on the recent Aged Care Reforms and will also give a short presentation by Simply Helping’s Managing Director on the wide range of in-home care and support services we offer.
